Race Details





1. Virtus: a specific virtue in Ancient Rome.  It carries connotations of valor, excellence, courage, character, and worth.


The 4th Annual Virtus Race runs through the beautiful Bosque. Starting and ending at the Old Alameda Bridge just north of Alameda’s Rio Grande Open Space parking lot. The well marked trails through the Bosque are among the best fall terrain in the city.

Awards for 1st place will be given for Women’s and Men’s division in both the 5K and 10K events. Strollers and pets allowed in the family friendly Kids K, 1 mile Fun Run, immediately following the completion of the 5K and 10k events.

East Side Albuquerque: From I-25 exit Alameda Blvd. and head west approximately 3.5 miles to Kelly Summers Rd, just before Alameda Bridge. (See map link above)

West Side Albuquerque: From Coors Bypass/Rio Rancho Blvd. take Alameda Blvd. east approximately 2.5 miles to Kelly Summers Rd, just after Alameda Bridge. (See map link above)

- Ample parking available just south of Alameda Blvd in the Alameda Rio Grande Open Space Parking Lot.

- From parking lot cross under Alameda Blvd on the footbridge to the Old Alameda Bridge for the staging area and starting line.
